Agrivoltaics (APV) is a promising concept for combining agriculture and solar power generation to advance the energy transition while ensuring social participation and acceptance. Both China and Germany are promoting the development of APV through policy support.
In this context, under the framework of the Sino-German Energy Partnership, supported by BMWK, GIZ and China New Energy Chamber of Commerce (CNECC) will jointly organize the Sino-German Expert Workshop on Agrivoltaics Development on 22 June with experts from Chinese and German research institutes, think tanks, and the private sector. The workshop aims at exchanging and discussing the current development, standards, and incentives to support APV development, as well as sharing experiences, lessons-learned, and challenges and summarizing the best practices from implemented pilot projects in both countries.
