Municipal Directive of Climate Protection on City Level (CN)

Since 2008, the Federal Ministry of Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) has started to promote climate protection on city level through the Municipal Directive. This is the most important national climate protection project in Germany. From 2008 to the end of 2018, about 14,400 projects in more than 3450 towns received a total of about 600 million euros in funding. These public funds drove an additional investment of about one billion euros.
