The Sino-German Environmental Partnership Project participated in the first part of the CBD COP 15 in Kunming under the invitation of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment(MEE).

From 11 to 15 October 2021 in Kunming, the Sino-German Environmental Partnership participated in the first phase of CBD COP 15. Delegates and observers from abroad joined online. The most important contents included the opening ceremony, the speeches of the heads of state and government, the adoption of the “Kunming Declaration” and the Ecological Civilization Forum (ECF). In the ECF, the concept of a Gross Ecosystem Product (GEP), synergies between biodiversity and climate change mitigation, mainstreaming, and nature-based solutions were accentuated. The forum ended with the presentation of the initiative Building a Global Ecological Civilization and Protecting Global Biodiversity.
